Shokujin is a place where you can enjoy the authentic flavors and atmosphere of Asia. Experience the streets of Asia in the “Street Bench Area” and the colorful “Tent Seating Area.” Experience the heartbeat of Asia at the “Food Cart Area.” Complete with a stage, Shokujin also hosts a variety of dance and music performances such as Thailand’s Ramthai and Indonesia’s gamelan, as well as performances by some of the university’s circles.

First university cafeteria in Japan to be named “Muslim Friendly”

Asia Kitchen Shokujin is the first university cafeteria in Japan to receive the “Muslim Friendly –Halal Certification” by NAHA (Nippon Asia Halal Association). No pork is used in the Halal dishes, dashi is used in place of soy sauce or mirin (which contain alcohol), and fried foods are cooked using vegetable oil. Halal ingredients are also stored separately and prepared and served using dishes only for Halal use.
