Department of International Communication / International Communication Major

Profile of people with high level Japanese and English communication skills sought by international corporations

There are certainly many students who plan on working in Japan after graduation. Each year, of 30 international students, approximately 70 to 80 percent aim for employment in Japanese corporations and ultimately remain in Japan and work. Competency in at least two languages is very attractive to Japanese companies. An international student’s success in a Japanese company depends on how he or she takes advantage of four years already spent in Japan. Staff at the Career Education Center will situate themselves between the companies and the student to assist in matching the student with the appropriate job, according to the student’s desires.
